Efter ett dramatiskt finalbord där det svängde fram och tillbaka så stod till slut Team Unibet Pro överst på pallen. Jimmy Jönsson tar med sig första priset på €161,271.

So young Swede Jonsson, having beaten a field of exactly 400 other poker players here at Casinos Poland at the Warsaw Hyatt, is walking away with a huge suitcase of cash and his first Unibet Open title.  We hear he’s attended a number of these events, but this is his biggest payday so far, and he seems very happy to take home the trophy (complete with his winning hand encased in glass for some reason) plus a suitcase chock full of Polish Zloty (over PLN650,000!).

Congratulations to Jimmy Jonsson, runner up Regis Burlot, and the whole final table for a breakneck and entertaining day’s poker.  Thanks to the Casino staff and floor, dealers and everyone who made this week such an enjoyable one for all involved.

Jimmy Jonsson raised to 115,000 from the small blind/button and Regis Burlot quickly called. The flop was possibly action-inducing when it came K J 8, Burlot checked and Jonsson bet 130,000.

Burlot looked over to his 1.7 million stack and made it 300,000 to go, instantly Jonsson moved all-in and Burlot quickly called.

The turn was the 9 making Jonsson the nuts on the turn, but Burlot improved to two pair and could still win with another King or Nine. The river though was the Q and Jonsson had Burlot covered, ensuring that the Swede is the winner of the 2009 Unibet Open in Warsaw!!!
